Our History

The early years of ADC were marked by significant challenges, including opposition from former PAOC leaders who falsely accused members of belonging to Dini ya Musambwa. Despite these obstacles, the church remained steadfast in its mission and continued to attract new followers.

Our Internal Culture

African Divine Church fosters an empowering internal culture by involving all key stakeholders in decision-making processes. This decentralized approach ensures efficiency and inclusivity at every level of the church's operations. Our culture is built on the foundation of Christian virtues and African heritage.

By 1950, ADC had established its identity with a biblical foundation
drawn from John 15:1-17, comparing the church to a vine tree meant to
grow and bear fruit. This biblical foundation has been crucial in
maintaining unity and purpose throughout the church\'s history.

The church plays a central role in community development, pursuing the highest standards of integrity, accountability, and transparency. Our employees embody Christian values as they serve as the development arm of the church, actively sharing new ideas that enhance our mission and vision.

The church was officially registered by the registrar of societies in 1957, marking a significant milestone in its recognition as a legitimate religious organization. This registration paved the way for the establishment of branches in various regions, including Uganda and Tanzania.

Our identity is reinforced through symbolic colors: white representing purity and divine presence, red symbolizing Christ's blood and spiritual authority, and green signifying growth and renewal. These colors appear in our liturgical garments and ceremonial decor, reflecting our unique spiritual heritage.

We hold ourselves individually and collectively accountable for promoting an internal culture which defines our identity.
