Our Core Values
The African Divine Church is guided by a set of core values that define our identity, shape our culture, and direct our actions. These values reflect our biblical foundation, our African heritage, and our commitment to holistic ministry that addresses spiritual, social, and physical needs.
Our core values are not merely theoretical principles but practical guides for decision-making, relationships, and ministry. They inform how we worship, how we serve, how we relate to one another, and how we engage with the world around us.
These values have been shaped by our history, our understanding of Scripture, and our experience of God's faithfulness. They connect us to our spiritual heritage while providing a framework for our ongoing growth and development as a church community.
Spiritual Foundations
Faithfulness to Christ is our primary value, reflecting our commitment to follow Jesus wholeheartedly and obey His teachings. This faithfulness is expressed through loyalty to His Word, devotion to prayer, and willingness to surrender our lives to His lordship.
Love and Holiness are inseparable values that characterize our life as a community. We are called to love God with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength, and to love our neighbors as ourselves. This love is expressed in a life of holiness, set apart for God's purposes and reflecting His character.
Service and Stewardship reflect our understanding that all we have and all we are belong to God. We are called to serve Him by serving others, using our gifts, resources, and time for His glory and the benefit of humanity. This includes responsible stewardship of the environment and all creation.
Community and Relationships
Unity in Diversity celebrates the richness of our differences while affirming our oneness in Christ. We value the diverse gifts, backgrounds, and perspectives within our church community, recognizing that this diversity strengthens our witness and ministry when united in love and purpose.
Peace and Reconciliation are essential values in a world often marked by conflict and division. We are called to be peacemakers, reconciling people to God and to one another. This value is expressed through our commitment to justice, forgiveness, and the healing of broken relationships.
Cultural Identity and African Spirituality acknowledge the importance of our African heritage in shaping our faith and worship. We value the integration of African cultural expressions with biblical truth, creating a faith that is both authentically Christian and authentically African.
Social Responsibility
Education and Empowerment reflect our commitment to equipping people with knowledge, skills, and resources to fulfill their potential. We value education as a means of liberation and empowerment, enabling individuals and communities to break cycles of poverty and dependency.
Compassion for the Vulnerable is demonstrated through our concern for and action on behalf of those who are marginalized, oppressed, or disadvantaged. We are called to follow Christ's example of compassion by caring for orphans, widows, the sick, and those living with HIV/AIDS.
Integrity and Accountability are essential for maintaining trust and credibility in our relationships and ministries. We value honesty, transparency, and ethical conduct in all our dealings, recognizing that we are accountable to God, to one another, and to the communities we serve.
