Executive Committee Launches Community Health Program
The Executive Committee of the African Divine Church has launched a comprehensive community health program designed to improve healthcare access in underserved areas across East Africa. This initiative reflects our core value of compassion for the vulnerable and our commitment to holistic ministry that addresses both spiritual and physical needs.
The program will build on ADCs existing health infrastructure, which includes Boyani Health Centre, three other health facilities, and numerous community health outreach programs. The new initiative will expand services to include preventive care, health education, maternal and child health services, and support for people living with chronic illnesses including HIV/AIDS.
Expanding Healthcare Access
Archbishop John Saiya Lilege announced that the program will establish two new clinics in Mugango and Jemaga, expanding on the existing facilities at Boyani. The program will also strengthen partnerships with other healthcare providers, including the collaboration with Ukweli Mission Hospital that has already brought dental services to the Boyani Health Centre.
A key component of the initiative is the training of community health workers who will provide door-to-door health education, basic healthcare services, and referrals to specialized care. This approach aligns with ADCs decentralized decision-making culture and empowers local communities to take charge of their health while receiving the support they need.
