Our Story

About African Divine Church

The African Divine Church (ADC) is an indigenous African Instituted Church founded in 1957 by Archbishop Samuel Andango. Born out of a deep desire to worship God in a distinctly African context, ADC has grown from a small fellowship in Western Kenya into a vibrant movement with more than two hundred branches across the nation. For over six decades, the church has remained steadfast in its commitment to biblical truth, cultural relevance, and compassionate service.

From its headquarters at Gamalenga in Vihiga County, ADC oversees a network of congregations, schools, clinics, and training institutes that together advance the gospel and uplift communities. The church believes that authentic Christian faith must transform every dimension of life — spiritual, social, economic, and intellectual — and so it pursues ministry that addresses the whole person and the whole community.

ADC is proudly African in identity and expression. Worship combines fervent prayer, vibrant singing, biblical preaching, and ordered liturgy, while leadership and decision-making reflect both biblical patterns and African communal values. The church affirms the dignity of every person, the centrality of family, and the responsibility of believers to be agents of reconciliation, justice, and hope in society.
